Spiced mushroom soy sauce from Mee Chun is brewed with selected soybeans.It is brewed in the same way as dark soy sauce: long matured and caramel is added to make it a thick, dark, almost syrupy sauce.It is just as dark soy sauce less salt than the light soy sauce, only with extra added mushroom extracts and herbs.It tastes more intense due to the added mixture than the ordinary dark soy sauce.
Spiced mushroom soy sauce belongs to the dark soy sauce and is therefore mainly used to give a beautiful dark color to the Asian dishes.But because of its mushroom flavor and spices, the dishes are being seasoned to taste..Heating improves the taste, dark soy sauce is actually not used cold.
